WHAT DOES CARBON NET ZERO MEAN?
Carbon net zero means that we add no more carbon than we remove. It's a big challenge, but we have been working on a range of initiatives to help us reach our target.
WHY SHOULD WE DO THIS NOW?
The science tells us that global warming must not exceed 1.5C to avoid the catastrophic impacts of climate change. To achieve this, greenhouse gas emissions must be halved by
2030, and drop to net-zero by 2050.
HOW ARE WE GOING TO ACHIEVE THIS?
We want to do better, so we've set ourselves the target of 2025 to become carbon net zero. We have identified four key areas that will help us to deliver this:
Reduce and optimise our energy consumption
Generating our own renewable energy onsite in our new premises
Removing plastic from our supply chains and delivery networks
Donating to sustainable projects to fund carbon removal though https://www.wren.co/

Alk water was created to make a healthier lifestyle more accessible. Having experienced
the benefits of alkaline water first-hand, founder, Matt Garne, made it his mission to give
everyone the choice of bettering their health and well-being in a sustainable and responsible way, at an affordable price.
Part of our commitment in providing alkaline water in a suitable way, was to ensure that we used innovative packaging and carefully selected supply chain partners who were aligned with our ethos.
With this commitment in mind we launched the UKs first alkaline water in an infinitely recyclable aluminium bottle and cap at the NEC Food & Drink Expo in April 2023. This is an exciting part of our journey as we bring our message to the general public.

At alk water we are also committed to ensuring that part of our profit works to make the world a better place, securing the future of those who most need it. We are in the process of creating a framework that allows us to provide clean and accessible drinking water to those who must walk hours to get it.
By 2025, we have committed ourselves to being carbon neutral and aim to reduce all plastic from our product and supply chain. We have taken steps towards this with our aluminium bottle and cap and we will keep the momentum with further innovation over the coming years.
